History of International Gospel Deliverance Center
Our History
During a weekly Bible study, on May 7, 2000, Pastor Prince Miles declared to his wife and three sons that God had spoken and called him to Pastor his own church. Those weekly Bible studies normally took place around the dining room table at the Miles' home. God commissioned Dr. Miles to "Bring the people back to Holiness". Dr. Prince Miles accepted the call of God upon his life and said "I will go; here am I Lord send me." From that day forward he stepped out on faith. The praying, planning and preparation began and the International Gospel Deliverance Center was born.
Pastor Prince Miles used personal funds to purchase a sound system and began holding services in the open air at the park on Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan. People gathered in the park to hear the Word of God. Men, women, boys, and girls were touched by the awesome power of God. Souls were saved and delivered and people's lives were changed.
Church services were later held at rental facilities in Southfield, Dearborn, and Detroit, Michigan, USA. At each location, the Word of God was preached with power and there was a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit that changed lives.
During the International Gospel Deliverance Center Holy Conference, held in October 2003, Dr. Prince Miles shared with the congregation a vision that God had showed him. In the vision, Dr. Miles found himself in unfamiliar territory standing before an open door. As he stood gazing at the door he heard the voice of the Lord say, "It is I who hath opened this door; take my hand and go through the door; as I was with your father, so shall I be with you". Dr. Miles then walked through that door.
On May 7, 2005, the International Gospel Deliverance Center Church Family celebrated their 'Grand Opening Service' at their new church, located at 23800 Southfield Road, in the beautiful city of Southfield, Michigan, USA.
God has placed His seal of approval upon this ministry and in His awesome power, He has blessed the International Gospel Deliverance Center with leaders who are highly favored of God.
Chief Apostle Dr. Prince A. Miles - The Legacy
Joining a legacy of preachers well-known for their prophetic calling, Dr. Prince A. Miles answered the call to ministry in 1975. His father, the late Apostle Charles O. Miles (see picture to the right), officially ordained him into ministry in 1977. Dr. Miles went on to receive formal training from William Tyndale College and the United Bible College and Seminary, where he earned a Doctor of Divinity Degree.
Dr. Miles has upheld the integrity of the Miles name. He served as Pastor of The Community Gospel Tabernacle Church in Harrow, Ontario, Canada from 1987 to 1990. A second-generation preacher, Dr. Prince A. Miles was consecrated in 2006 as God’s Young Apostle. Currently, he serves as Founder and Chief Apostle of the International Gospel Deliverance Center Church in Southfield, Michigan, USA.
Chief Apostle Miles’ purpose and mission is to reach the world for Jesus Christ and extends far beyond the United States. Chief Apostle Miles conducts life-changing crusades and revivals in Africa, India, Israel, Egypt, Trinidad and Haiti. In recognition of his hard work, dedication, perseverance, and leadership abilities, Chief Apostle Miles was featured in the 2006 Inaugural Edition of Who’s Who in Black Detroit and is a lifetime member of the Global Directory of Who’s Who.
Chief Apostle Dr. Prince A. Miles is a leader and shining light in the community. He is a witness for Jesus Christ. His desire is to make a difference and to see lives changed and transformed by the saving Grace of Jesus Christ.
